GET TO KNOW OUR VARIETIES

Sekoya Grande

Sekoya Grande is exceptional for its high yield and superior fruit quality. This variety has a similar harvest window to 'Ventura' and before 'Star'. OlympusBlue® 'TH-1008' is best suited for evergreen growing systems due to the large fruit size in the primocane crop, although this is also a valuable addition to traditional deciduous growing systems. The berry is sweet with the right amount of acidity for short or long-distance travel. Selected in Georgia, USA, and tested in southern Spain, this variety is a great addition to low chill growing regions.

Sekoya Crunch

Sekoya Crunch is a favorite for its peach-like, highly aromatic flavor. This variety has strong growth with yields competitive with ‘Draper’ and ‘Legacy’. The plant is wide with a narrow crown, and produces many laterals that should be managed to increase harvest efficiency and overall fruit size.

Sekoya Crunch has been trialed in high and mid chill environments with success in both climates. It is hard for our visitors and employees to forget this fantastic, flavorful blueberry that consistently takes the top scores in our taste tests.

Suziblue

Suziblue is an early ripening, low-mid chill variety from the University of Georgia. It is noted for its high yields (slightly higher than Star), easy picking, and uniform appearance. The variety is licensed and protected by Fall Creek. We grow Suziblue in substrate and covered tunnels to get the earliest production. The fruit is firm, with mild flavor and medium to large size. Suziblue Picking Season: Mid May - Early June

Duke

Duke blueberries are the leading early ripening Northern Highbush variety. It is known for its high yields of uniform sized, quality fruit. Duke’s mild flavor seems to improve with cold storage. Maintaining the plant vigor of Duke blueberries can be a challenge over a long period of time. Growers must choose a quality growing site and continually employ good cultural practices. The Duke blueberry is one of the leading candidates for mechanical harvest, fresh and process sales.

Miss Alice Mae

Miss Alice Mae™ ‘TH-921’ blueberries are a new release from the University of Georgia. It ripens early mid-season (with Star in California) and flowers later than Star. A workhorse variety, the Miss Alice Mae™ ‘TH-921’ blueberry is known for high yields and ease of growing which are the main advantages of this variety. The fruit is a lighter blue than Star, but overall the fruit quality of Miss Alice Mae™ ‘TH-921’ blueberries is average.

Blue Ribbon

Exclusive to Fall Creek® Genetics™, Blue Ribbon blueberries are an early- to mid-season selection released primarily for the high quality, hand harvest, fresh market. Its most notable attributes are high yields of firm, flavorful large berries and good post-harvest shelf life. We recommend the Blue Ribbon blueberry for commercial plantings in Mid Chill regions and High Chill climates with milder winters. In addition, early indications, Blue Ribbon blueberries may be highly adaptable to evergreen management in Low Chill environments.

Miss Jackie

A release from the University of Georgia. Miss Jackie™ ‘TH-917’ blueberries have large, firm, high quality fruit and could be a possible Camellia companion. Compared to Camellia, the Miss Jackie™ 'TH-917' blueberry can be easier to manage due to its better leafing. Miss Jackie™ 'TH-917' blueberries ripen later than Star, Emerald, and Jewel, filling a seasonal production gap.

Top Shelf

Exclusive to Fall Creek® Genetics™, the Top Shelf blueberry is notable for its very large, flavorful, firm fruit. While similar to Draper in many ways, Top Shelf blueberries seem to excel in areas such as plant vigor, fruit size and flavor. We recommend Top Shelf blueberries for commercial plantings in High Chill regions with milder winters.

Valor

The Valor® 'ZF08-070' blueberry, from Fall Creek Genetics®, is very grower-friendly. Valor® 'ZF08-070' blueberries are a standout for cold hardiness, fruit sizing, ease of picking and yield. Flavor and firmness are more comparable to Legacy than Draper. Valor® 'ZF08-070' blueberry could fill a strong need for a cold-hardier, multipurpose variety in the PNW.
